Our programmes allow Members and their families to face the challenges ahead with renewed confidence and self-belief.

Since 1932, we have been the only national Service charity that supports limbless veterans for the duration of their lives. Our Members range from the youngest amputee veterans to those who fought in WWII.

Walking With The Wounded was set up in 2010 to support all veterans with physical, mental or social injury back into work by gaining the skills and qualifications necessary to develop new careers outside the military, re-integrate into society and provide long-term security for themselves and their families.
The charity’s primary focus is employment but its programmes also focus on key issues facing veterans such as homelessness, veterans in police custody and mental injury.
In conjunction with individual fundraising events, Walking With The Wounded also promotes awareness of the charity, our wounded community and the challenges faced by all those living with disability by undertaking high-profile expeditions with wounded veterans and serving soldiers that are entirely funded by corporate sponsorship. In 2015 we are undertaking our next expedition, the Walk Of Britain, building on those to the North Pole (2011), Mount Everest (2012) and the South Pole (2013).
